Landscape Construction

How much you want to spend?  What do you want?  When do you want to do it?

When is a permit not required?

Typically, a structure does NOT need a permit when:

  • Is under 10 m2 (107 sq. ft.), and
  • It is not attached to a house (see additions), and
  • Is not in the front yard, and
  • It meets the height restrictions.

Back yard parking pads typically don't require a permit, but if you would like to build a garage Engineering involvement is required for slabs over 55 square meters.

If your project does not meet these criteria, you will need a permit.
