The DIY craze - how to go bankrupt in three easy steps
One of my peeves in the last several years has been the watering down of my industry. With 26 years in the industry and a life study of building in the Canadian environment I know how dangerous Canada can be.
To see people that are selling my trade work at a cost of quality and downsizing of the emmense multifaceted, in genius effort of the writing and up dating of the Canadian code. I putting this article in to warn people, you can’t just wake up in the morning and have a grasp on the science of the construction process and the many many tricks and guidelines that are there. I am seeing so many jobs where even the guys that hire the guys that are not qualified are just not qualified in anything except sales and work is really diminishing here in the country in many areas. It is one thing to need money and be qualified or have money and not be qualified, but to have little money and not be qualified, well wait all three are bad.
Putting in floors over rotten substructure, or worse treated black mould or products that have not had a toxic value realized and maby wont ever people that just install it in there homes by guys leaving gaps every where where mould and
Three easy steps to go bankrupt
1. Buy building materials on sale to save money and find out that they are mouldy, un durable or bent so badly out of shape not even the best tradesman could make a silk perse out of a pigs ear.
2.Hire a salesman who talks the best talk, but is the biggest idiot in town. Saving money by cutting out steps in the building code, like structural – How bout the cheapest deck guy! Ya ok Binder wait till you have that wedding party on your cheep deck then call me ! Lol Or skip vapour barriers or accusta seal, or membranes or channel water into the roof, instead of leafing down the house, or in the window, behind the bed – then your family is going to have relationship problems from mold once it sinks in and you are all sick from nero toxic poisoning.
3. best way to go bank runp – Do it yourself. The number one reason for mental health breakdowns in Canada are couples that do there own renovations together – is that not enough said? Youtube videos with 2 million followers that are still wrong practices doesn’t save your home from; fires, suir gas entering the home, leaks, structural shifting, vapour buildup and mouldy rotten areas where gases can form any number of hazards. Dry rout, carbon monoxide you name it. Be care full. And the worst I am seeing right now, mould is everywhere and our real estate is over valued, way over valued when built by the hacks out there.
